The flight plan

Roadmap

What we're working on, in the order we expect to do it. We haven't put dates on it. A date we miss is worse than no date, so we'll add them when we can stand behind them.

Now

  • Aviary application, Linux preview

Invite-only testing of the central application with early apps and a download service.

  • Aviary Hosting for Minecraft

Live in beta. Growing features such as server names, add-ons and modpack handling.

  • Sparrow pilot

The first real applications installed and updated through Aviary.

  • Raven and Dove

Both under active development. Raven's lesson engine and Dove's ownable cards.

  • Plover

Feature-complete and being prepared for release on Android.

Next

  • Windows version of Aviary

    The second platform after Linux.

  • Application catalogue

Browse, search and install apps from inside Aviary.

  • Wider testing

Moving from invite-only toward a public beta, in stages.

  • Website hosting

Sites for people and businesses, set up and looked after for you.

  • More game servers

    Hosting for games beyond Minecraft.

Later

  • Plugins and app composition

Add features to apps with plugins that declare exactly what they can access.

  • Community requests and voting

A say in what gets built and fixed, with funding that adds capacity but never buys votes.

  • Build your own apps

Describe what you need as requirements and have it designed, built and checked for you.

  • Software as a service hosting

A home for the services you build and run.

  • Hosting linked to Aviary

Apps that run on Aviary Hosting and connect back to the application.

Plans change as we learn from testers. The most reliable way to hear what's happened is the waitlist, and you can always ask us.
